The Gypsy Rover previously roved around the city on wheels, but who knew long-term that would be hard? Instead of battling with uncontrollable mobile limitations, The Gypsy Rover now lives in the comfort of four walls inside Molly’s. So, whether you’re looking to book a small gathering inside The Gypsy Rover, or are just craving a bit of Ireland, stop into Molly’s for a pint and a true Irish experience.
There really is nothing like walking into an Irish Pub. It’s a warm and welcoming experience unlike any other. It’s about having a good time and enjoying the company of friends or family over a pint of Guinness or an Irish coffee, and that’s exactly what you’ll get when you walk into Molly’s. It’s in the family!
Molly’s History
Molly is a Toledo native and first-generation Irish American as her dad was from Galway, Ireland. While Molly’s Irish Pub is the first McHugh pub in the US, it’s certainly not the first pub in the family. Molly’s great grandfather, Thady McHugh started T. McHugh’s pub in Headford, Co. Galway in 1897. In fact, if you look close enough, you will find a framed picture of Thady McHugh’s Family Grocer (Tea, Wine, Spirits and Provisions Merchant) hanging up inside The Gypsy Rover. T. McHugh’s is still in operation within the family today. Coincidently, ‘up the road’ (as they say in Ireland) from T. McHugh’s is the Angler’s Rest Hotel and pub. The Angler’s was started by Patrick Heneghan (also Molly’s great grandfather) and his wife Mary in 1905. The Angler’s continues to be in operation today by 4th generation family.
